I use evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and principles from an array of therapeutic modalities to create a tailored approach to each client. My orientation is primarily transpersonal and psychodynamic, which means I might be curious about your early life and how your patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving came to be. The coping mechanisms implemented by a toddler or young child are often creative and effective for a time. As adults, we can update them.
I earned my MA in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. My undergraduate work took place at Haverford College, Haverford, PA, and I was also a visiting undergraduate at Harvard University, Cambridge MA. I have been a licensed mental health counselor in Florida since 2006.
My training in energy work includes seven years of study and five years as faculty at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, certification as a Reiki Master, training in EFT (tapping), and a number of other body-centered and energy psychology modalities that are emerging as evidence-based. I currently serve as Class Dean of Year 4 at The Barbara Brennan School of Healing in Florida.
Working with the energy system can help access the wisdom – and trauma – that is held in the body. Energy work has been a tremendous support to me on my journey, and I am delighted to offer it to my clients while researchers continue to study how and why it helps people.
In a healing session, we may explore areas that influence your state of well-being, such as your health history, life stressors, belief systems, your family history and relationships.
