My orientation is primarily psychodynamic, which means I will be curious about your early life and how your patterns of thinking and feeling initially came to be. The coping mechanisms implemented by a toddler or young child are often brilliant and effective, but as adults, we should probably update them. I am trained in a variety of body-centered modalities, which can help you access the innate wisdom of your body. I am certified in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and frequently use mindfulness based techniques to address psychological concerns such as anxiety and depression.
I earned my MA in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. My undergraduate work took place at Haverford College, Haverford, PA, and I was also a visiting undergraduate at Harvard University, Cambridge MA. I have been a licensed psychotherapist in Florida since 2006.
My training in energy work includes seven years of study and three years of teaching at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, certification as a Reiki Master, training in hypnotherapy, regression therapy, and DNA activation techniques.
I work with the energy consciousness system which includes the physical body, the chakras and various levels of the auric field, the dimension of hara, and the core star dimension.
In a healing session, we may explore areas that influence your state of well-being, such as your health history, life stressors, belief systems, your family and childhood history, and relationships.
Even in darkness it is possible to create light.
– Elie Wiesel
As a fan of conventional education and well-respected institutions, I had my judgments about “flaky” or unproven alternative practices. But in working with a Brennan healer during graduate school and personally experiencing relief of symptoms of hypoglycemia through this work, I became intrigued by this modality.
